Announcement, Dr. Tim Tristan DVM to speak at the 2010 SGGA

The SGGA is proud to announce that Dr. Tim Tristan DVM, from Oso Creek Animal Hospital in Corpus Christi Texas, will be attending and speaking at the 2010 SGGA. He has spoken at a previous SGGA and he was a great addition to the days events. I am very excited to welcome him back.

I have spoken to both Dr. Tristan and Virgil Klunder and each will address the participants of the SGGA at the SGGA. Neither party will address topics or questions prior to the SGGA, and neither party would like any organization to answer questions for them.

The afternoon session consisting of a series of questions and answers with Virgil Klunder will continues as planned but will have the addition of Dr. Tristan’s participation.

There will be updates and further announcements on the 2010 SGGA website as soon as possible

Chris, I wanted to tell you yesterday when I saw your post but couldn't because it hadn't been confirmed yet. It was already in the works but I was not 100% certain it was all going to work out that he could be there. And goodness knows these days I'd have been plucked and feathered if I said we DID have a vet coming, and then didn't. Tar might have also been involved.

While I am sure it is going to be hot in KY in July, I still need my feathers. I might need to fly away ;)

As I said above... there will be no questions answered prior to the SGGA and I can't speak for Dr. Tristan. But... if I had to make a bet I'd say he will be friendly and social as he has been in the past :)

What is the possibility of having a webcam streaming live or a recording of all the speakers? :Smile:

Zero, I'm afraid, at least this year. :( It would also be amazing to meet you...and so many others! Ohhh, I got it! I think you guys should move everything to Colorado. That's doable, right?! LOL

I've been working my arse off on the SGGA and guess what I hear? I'll give you a sample of my phone calls, pm's and posts on the boards. All boards, not just here. I just happend to post here last night. It was not dirrected at 'LGG' at all. Just in general.

Website is not updated, logo contest not done (both are not in my control at this time).

Why aren't the tshirts done? (hello, no logo, no tshirt)

It is too expensive. (Really, for years people begged for no raffle and suggested we increase the ticket price instead. I did that, and now they don't like that either. It is only on adverage $20 more than it has been in the past and it is less than Val's was)

I don't like the food, don't want to pay for the food, why I gotta pay for the food? (because)

Why is there two chickens picked on the menu? I don't like chicken. I want fish. (it was a dang POLL, I can't control how your peers voted)

What if I don't want the free SGN party, do I still have to pay so much? (yes, I AM PAYING FOR THE SGN PARTY, me and Kris and Karin, it's not included in the SGGA cost, I've said that 1 million times now.)

I don't like the vending hours you have set, can you change it just for me? (oh sure, I am going to change everything so all the rest of the vendors are put out buy you-vendor, are happy)

Community Hall? I don't want to be involved. (such a shame)

Yard sale (yes there will be one announced later to support organizations that choose to participate) I don't like what you are doing, I don't like what they are doing, I don't have time, I think your under prepared, I don't want to share. etc. (I am so tired of trying to help)

Virgil who. Wow, convient timing. (really, like I Planned this to happen while I was on vacation, to me... very inconvient timing)

Virgil is going to take over, it's all about Virgil. (really, how do you know, are you sitting here with me planning it?)

Virgil is going to sell products, Virgils is going to sell gliders, Virgil is going to find out about.... colored gliders, OMG (really, I have posted over and over he is not, and he has his own gliders, knows what colored gliders are, come on now people)


THAT, is just a sample of what I have gotten since I have been on vacation. Not all the crud I got before.

I have spent thousands of dollars to go on vacation with my husband and because of this great and convient timing, Bourbon has no internet and Karin is on her way to Vegas with no internet and no cell phone. So it's me folks, on vacation. Sorry if I seem sensitive.

I don't get paid to do this, I do this because I love the SGGA, but on sunny days in Key West when I am spending my time surfing instead of surfing, I get cranky. I know I could have waited until next week to do all this SGGA stuff, but let's be real. Had I waited till next week people would have said... why so secretive, why didn't you tell us asap, what/you working with SPIN, SPIN get you to do this to take the heat off of them, why why why. So I choose to do it on vacation and get it done now. My fault.
I was actually expecting someone to say... Dr. Tristan, whatever, why not a different vet? (Because I like him and he is the one I know).

So I was honestly suprised by the positive reaction. It was no slam against LGG, not at all, I was happy to see it. If my snarky comment rubbed anyone the wrong way, I am sorry.

It would be very difficult for me to be nice to someone when I didn't want to. It's against my nature. I honestly don't think I could do it. More than likely I would click them on ignore and that would be that. They wouldn't exist in my world from that point forward....lol
