BAKE OFF at the SGN BLOCK Party - at the 2010 SGGA

SGN BLOCK PARTY BAKE OFF

SGN will be having a party for all the registered SGGA members and their families or anyone in the area that would like to come but can not attend the SGGA. In addition to food, friends and fun we will be having a bake off. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!


So what kind of bake off can you have in a hotel? A bake off where you bring your own HOMEMADE goodies. No actual baking will be done on site, we trust you all and know you’d never buy your goodies and repackage them.

We will break our bake off into two categories, brownies and cookies.

What you need to participate.

1. A little bit of Paula Dean in your blood.
2. A working oven in your home or some other baking method.
3. A good recipe (I suggest stealing from Granny) and tasty ingredients.
4. At least 13 brownies or 13 cookies to donate to the SGN Block party. 12 will be enjoyed by all the guests and 1 will be split between the judges to sample. If you want to bring more than a bakers dozen (13) we will gladly eat whatever extra you bring.


The SGN block party will be between 6 pm and 8 pm on July 30th in the hospitality suite of the Ramada Conference Center, in Lexington KY (The night before the 2010 SGGA) Please bring your cookie or brownie entry to the hospitality suite by 5:30 pm. Cookies and Brownies brought in after the judging begins will be eaten but not judged  You may enter in just cookies, or just brownies, OR both. If you enter in both you have the opportunity to win two prizes. You can enter more than once but you can only win once in cookie or brownie and you can only get one entry prize.

Prize you say? What is the prize?

Each winner (best cookie, best brownie) will win a complete cake cage set made by Robin aka BelladonnasMom and donated by me.

There will also be a small prize for everyone that enters.

Judges.

We will be looking for pregnant woman to volunteer to eat cookies and brownies  Can’t get a better judges than that.

If you use any type of nuts, nut oil, please mark your plate of cookies/brownies with that fact as well as long as your one for the judges. We want to make sure that anyone that has a ‘nut’ allergy is aware if it.
