Houston area vets???

Post by BelladonnasMom on Mon Aug 31, 2009 10:25 pm

David W is still having health issues with some of his gliders and has asked me for a vet recommendation. I like Dr. Knight, and I trust him for routine care, but if anyone here has a serious illness I would be looking to go to Houston for a bigger MORE knowledgeable vet. Can some of the Houston area folks tell me what vet they use? I seem to recall there were several members (Tracy and/or Peggy maybe???) that all use the same vet as Priscilla. Suggestions on the direction I should send poor David? I think that guy is about to have a nervous break down!

Dr. Tristan is in Corpus Christi I believe... I know he is THE Dr. to consult with, but I don't know how many here actually travel to see him.

But just because vets are ON that list does not make them GOOD vets. I am asking if the Housotn area members will recommend THEIR vet Cindy...

Dr. Antinoff is good. Dr Fronfield (not sure on spelling, that's how it's said)--Fronfield is expensive. Dr Kroft or Croft. Cora knows which ones I'm talking about. Westgate, listed in that link is my vet, in South Austin.

Im not sure of the vets in Houston, I am down by Corpus Christi, but I do know that when Priscilla was concerned about Wilma and her vet up there couldnt figure out what the problem was, she sent her home with me to bring in to Tim.

I hear many talk about Westgate though. Sorry, I wasnt much help at all was I?

I use Dr. Chucle at A&M Vet Clinic off of Westpark, close to Kirby Dr. which was recommended by Priscilla. Before her I was using Dr Jordan at Avian Animal Hospital in the West University area. Both are very glider knowledgable but I love Dr. Chucle's prices if you have alot of gliders. Dr. Jordan charges per glider. He also prefers to gas them real quick so he can get a thorough exam on them. I think I've listed both on the vet database. Tell David he can give me a call if he has any questions.

Dr. Chucle is reccomended by PP for normal everyday stuff but she reccomends a different vet for anything really serious. He used to be the vet for Houston Zoo and his prices do reflect it.
If you contact PP she can give you his name.
