Re: Toledo vet?
I think there's a suggie vet at the avian hospital in Toledo, but they are very expensive. I'm talking $125 just for a check up. My vet is in Defiance, Ohio and my back up vet is in Bryan, Ohio. There are also a vets that will see suggies in Bowling Green, Findlay, and Lima.

Re: Toledo vet?
I have a client out there with a friend who needs a neuter. The current vet won't neuter till 8 months and charges 250.00
So I need a good vet with a decent neuter price (who will do a neuter before 8 months, lol)... and I should have been more specific on my first post. I'm a bit shocked still by the stupid things vets say/do.
How far are those places from toledo?

Re: Toledo vet?
My vet is about 45 minutes to an hour from Toledo. She charges $125 for a neuter and requires an exam before hand, which cost $25-32, depending on if she runs fecals... She'll neuter as young as 3 months.

Re: Toledo vet?
Her name is Dr. Renea Gerschutz and the offices phone number is 419-782-7595.
Is the $250 a quote from a vet in Toledo? I only know of the one and that sounds in line with their prices...

Re: Toledo vet?
this is the info she sent me about it...
"The Vet that im refering to is Orosz, Susan. I thought that sounded wierd! I have a vet that will do emergency stuff, but not general check ups or Neutering. And all my babies are healthy:) I was trying to help my friend Maureen, and when i talked to this vet it was tooo fishy! I knew that was wrong, also she told me they cant handel the pain and the 260 was mostly for pain meds,, I thought they did really well with it, and she said the younger they are the chance of them having urinary problems are increased, which i coulnt find anything on the net to prove this. Thats why I asked you, I knew you would know!"
Really bizzare if you ask me!

Re: Toledo vet?
Hum, that is odd. My vet interned in an office with a suggie owner and she's been seeing my gliders for the last 6 or 7 years. She doesn't know everything there is to know, but she doesn't claim to either and is always willing to learn. That's what I like about her. Also, she's open to suggestions for alternative treatments, methods, etc. That's how we came up with the anesthesia free blood draws... I honestly have never had a single complaint about her or her staff. They are all wonderful.

I sent her the info, thanks!
I drive almost an hour to get to my vet since we moved... a great vet is worth a drive :)

Re: Toledo vet?
I totally agree :) My vet used to be about 5 minutes away, she changed offices a few years ago and is now about 40 minutes away. It's totally worth the drive though. That was actually one of the deciding factors on my new house, lol. It's closer to my vets office, hahaha.

Toledo Vetrinary Hospital
I would come over to us. We are Sylvania Vet Hospital right outside Toledo. We are open 24 hours a day and have a special doctor for exotics and avian species. We have had glider's in before quite a few times and are used to caring for them. I have put our Toledo Vetrinarian website below and I encourage you to give us a try. I hope you guys don't mind that we posted here but I am sure we can offer the service you need.
