Link Issue?

Post by matchmakersmagic on Sun May 25, 2008 8:50 pm

Okay, remember that problem I am having when trying to sign in at work?

Well the same thing happens when Im at home when I try to click any of the links in the "hit list". It opens up a seperate page for the link, but asks me to sign in. When I type in my info, it tells me that same error. Question

Anyone else have that problem?

I was able to sign in at my mom's house today. I had to take a part of the LGG address out of the address bar to bring me to the regular home page sign in, then it let me sign in. I plan to try this at work. But this trick wont work when Im trying to view links.

I've checked your settings and there is no reason on our end why you shouldn't be able to access everything. You have full access.

Ooooo, I've had that problem as well, but didn't want to worry about it. There's plenty to read. Wink

Are you both using AOL? Php boards HATE AOL...Try using internet explorer, but I imagine that the issue logging on at work wouldn't be an aol issue since you're probably using IE.

LOL I figured it would come down to this. I suppose I'll just have to find other threads on those baddies then. Im sure there's other stuff posted I can find with the search function.

Man, I wish I could "show" you! All well. No biggie. If I wasn't able to sign in on my mom's computer today, I would of honestly thought my confirmation email was wrong with the wrong sign in info with as many times as I've gotten that error. It wont even let me change my password saying my email is incorrect! So my life goes these days! pirat

I wonder if it's a *version* of IE issue. I'm still using 6 because so many sites are incompatible with 7. Beyond that, I dunno. I despise AO-Hell, so I never use it.

Here's a perfect example. Today's thread:

http://lauriesglidergazette.forumotion.com/glider-watch-dog-f17/info-needed-please-t1619.htm?sid=f139289a8108f7247b8519708a0b83c6

If I try to click on Kiiru's link, it asks for a login, and my username and password are invalid.

Just FYI.

See whats funny is that link worked for me. Took me to the thread, but this one that I found within THAT one, did not work for me. Brought me to the sign in page and rejected my info.

Its the strangest thing. The only thing I cared about was the "hit list". I could not find those people using the regular search, I have a feeling maybe the topic "name" isn't the same as the people's name or they aren't searchable or something. Dunno. Either way I gave up on trying to get that to work!

Im just glad I can log on while at work now! afro

Bingo, You are linking to the old board. I clicked it and it came up with my username and password.

So then the hit list links are to the old board where my sign in info are not good then?

I didn't know there was an "old board". Hmm. I wonder if thats why I couldn't sign in at work. The LGG I had bookmarked may have been the old board and not the new one, which also explains why when I fixed the address it let me sign in...

So what do I need to do now to view the links. Register on the page that those links bring up?

Yes you can register and read but in order for anyone else to read the links over there they have to be registered at the old board also. Does that make sense ?
