I am soooo excited!!!

I got a phone call from someone today helping to answer any questions I had & to re-assure me that it's a casual, good time to be had & to ignore any rumors that go around unless they come from those associated with the SGGA...I am so excited!!! I can't wait!!!

LOL I'm confused, why would he call and say that? They're not actually associated with the SGGA are they? In fact; last I heard PixTrix was boycotting them right along with John and the rest of his minions.....strange.

Maybe it was Marty? Or Mark or something? I dunno - I had no idea who could be calling me from a Florida number - so I didn't pay any attention until I realized it was about the SGGA registration...

Martin? Mar...something? I dunno! Who's involved with the logistics and registration and website of the SGGA? Oh well...

Was it Bourbon??? She has a fairly deep voice. And she just called me tonight to ask about my registration. Pm me the number and I can tell you if it was her or not.

It was Bourbon's number - I googled...I shoulda done that before I posted!!!

Okay - here's my excuse: It was after 2pm I had not eaten all day and had just pulled into the Subway parking lot starving and all I could think about was the nummy chicken breast sandwich I was about to order - all of a sudden - my cell rings - it's a number I do not recognize & I am expecting a wrong number...I wasn't paying much attention until I realized it was about the SGGA - it was a 3 or 4 minute call & I feel stupid now! Are you happy?!?!?!?! hehehe

ROFLMAO, don't worry Brenda...you won't be the last to think it was a guy...lol. I did too the first time I ever spoke to her on the phone. She has a very deep voice.

I also blame her phone not working when Lan opened up his neuter site in July - otherwise I would have already talked to her before & known what her voice sounded like - if Linda (LSardou) had called me - I would have recognized her...(cuz that's who ended up talking me through getting his collar on over the phone...) Where's a pouting emoticon when you need one?

Yes it was I that called usha as she had a question on her application that she needed an answer to..

I myself and others have heard "RUMORS" and that it all they are is rumors.. so I will try to clear those up.

Rumors I have heard..

1. That there won't be an SGGA next year.
This is totally false. The SGGA will remain each year as long as it serves it's purpose. and It's purpose is information, and education. are there other things going on? sure. but the primary objective of the SGGA is education. each year the tentative agenda is posted. Many people new and seasoned CAN learn SOMETHING at the SGGA, we now have many seasoned SGGA attendees that volunteer to help in the demonstration areas so that they themselves can help educate others. It really is about the community helping the community.

2. 3. That the SGGA is a huge Party.
Well that is true and false. That is not all the SGGA is, a look at our agenda is proof of that. But do people have a great time? Yes by all means, are there some parties going on after the conference? yes some, is everyone at them? NO, does everyone drink? What happens and what people do in their own rooms is their business, Does the SGGA pay for any alcohol? NO, The SGGA works hard each year to make the time spent enjoyable, but the SGGA only sets the stage. The people who attend the SGGA is what makes the SGGA what it is, the education and the wisdom, the advice, not only during the conference and the demos, but during the social times as well, is totally awesome. The vast amount of knowledge and experience that is shared is part of the "Magic" of the SGGA. To Get different views on bonding, handling, medical, diets etc.. is invaluable. The friends that are made, the meeting of the minds as well as the faces is great. That is one place where true discussions can be had, where you can see the expressions, body language, and the meanings behind peoples words. The SGGA is what you make it out to be. If you go because you have a true desire to learn more, you will accomplish that goal. If you can learn and have a good time doing that, is that so wrong?

3. That the SGGA will be given to The Glider Initiative or someone else.
Also this is totally false. The Glider Initiative will be hosting their own fund raiser in the same time slot as the GA gatherings were. They have no desire to take the SGGA, that is not their mission. although we do share the same mission and ideas, the TGI is not nor ever will OWN the SGGA. They will however be sponsoring the raffle this year for legal purposes, and the proceeds from the raffle will go to the next SGGA.
